Background

Santa Monica provides a holistic treatment experience that utilizes proven practices to improve women’s mental, physical, and spiritual health. They use multiple therapeutic strategies to improve clients’ cognitive behavioral patterns and to address clients’ physical and psychological traumas. They help women develop a sense of personal accountability with structured programming that focuses on practical life skills, 12-step participation, and employment. Santa Monica’s halfway house program can last from six to nine months; the length of stay for each woman is individualized based on her needs and her progress in treatment. And a step-down level of care, the three-fourths-way house provides supported transition back into the community through a three-to-six-month therapeutic community living environment. Santa Monica also provides a transitional living apartment opportunity, especially for mothers with children.

This program is another step-down level that requires a one-year commitment.

Brag Lines

Santa Monica was first accredited by CARF for residential treatment of alcohol and other drugs in April 2015. Santa Monica expanded services in 2016 to include not only the halfway house program but also the three-quarter-way house. Santa Monica expanded services again in 2018 to include a transitional living apartment opportunity that will focus on reunification of women with children. The addition of these programs provides the women a longer step-down process to help them transition into the community successfully.

Pay it Forward

Santa Monica has provided quality service to the community for 45 years. This was possible in part due to the generosity of the community through donations. Support is important now more than ever due to the strain on funding sources in the state. There are several ways to lend a helping hand to Santa Monica, whether it is monetary, clothing, toiletries or in kind service, they welcome your support.
