"Write it on your heart that every day is the best day in the year.”

—Ralph Waldo Emerson

I am usually not one for New Year's resolutions, as I feel each day is a great day to start living a better life. Focus on what means the most, tune out the clutter, and try not to sweat the small stuff.

There is a little something for everyone in this first issue of 2020. Michael Maley’s home has all of the right ingredients to celebrate—impeccable style, a trusted designer, unique lighting, vibrant color, and blue velvet to top it all off.

Jeremy Estill, our skilled maker this issue, shows how artistry and carpentry go hand-in-hand to create one-of-a-kind pieces that can be passed down for generations.

Also inside are great tips before deciding to downsize, a dramatic bathroom makeover, a barnwood basement, and how/why the fiddle-leaf fig plant is in popular demand.

Each year we have the opportunity to become the person we want to be. We hope that our stories inspire you to try new things, enhance your home, and believe in yourself.

From OmahaHome to your home, we wish you all a happy and fabulous New Year.
